Congratulations to Oeler Industries, Inc. for winning the Novawall Project of the Month for July 2023.

The winning submission is Firewater Kitchen & Bar, located in Oakland, Maryland.

Located on the shore of Deep Creek Lake, Firewater Kitchen + Bar is a destination for fresh-made craft cocktails and craft beers, with indoor-outdoor dining. Loved by locals and travelers alike, the natural wood and stone are all part of its rustic charm; enjoy delicious food and a personalized drink selection in a modern and comfortable ambiance along picturesque views.

“This project came about as a referral from an architect. The restaurant owner was receiving many noise complaints; bartenders and wait staff were getting orders wrong due to not being able to hear the customer,” said owner and project manager Matt Oeler.

“Detailed reverberation analysis revealed a need for approximately 1800 square feet of absorption @NRC 0.085; the challenge was to make it disappear in the knotty pine decor.” “We developed an algorithm to produce a high-definition print that would emulate the knotty pine finish, complete the shadows, would contain no repeat.” “The result was a custom-printed ceiling of Novawall that is indistinguishable from the original wooden ceiling; the client, employees, and customers are thrilled with the result!”

The project called for over 1800 linear feet of 1-inch Weltless Track and 300 yards of custom Oelex Digigraphic fabric.

Key members for this project include owner and project manager; Matt Oeler and lead installer; Cory Lewis.

Completed in 2- weeks Oeler Industries was able to solve the acoustic issues without impacting the visual impact of the space by getting creative with their ability to print a convincing image on fabric.

Congratulations again to Matt Oeler, Cory Lewis, and the rest of the Oeler Industries Team!
